Why do paver patios go uneven here?
Base preparation, nearly every time. A patio is only ever as flat as the compacted gravel underneath it. Winnipeg cycles through freezing and thawing repeatedly each winter, and every cycle works on any weakness in the base. Pavers laid on thin sand over clay will move within a few seasons.
How long does a paver patio last?
Properly installed, decades. The pavers themselves are cold-climate rated concrete products and are not usually what fails. What fails is the base or the edge restraint, which is why we spend the time on excavation and compaction that is invisible in the finished result.
Which paver brands do you use?

Can a patio be added to a yard that already has a deck?
